with the artists
Saturday, March 5, 5 – 7 p.m.
See below for further details.
Judy and Bob are both retired from Caddo Schools, and while neither has formal art/photography training, they have taken many workshops locally and across the country with artists accomplished in their fields.
Beginning almost 20 years ago, they began to show their work at the original Neon Saturday Nights in downtown Shreveport. Since then, through memberships in the Hoover Watercolor Society, Shreveport Art Club, Louisiana Artists, and the Creative Art Connection their work has been shown and won awards in local and regional competitions. The couple are staples at the annual Sunflower Trail and Festival in Gilliam and the Garden Bazaar at the Pioneer Heritage Center, as part of the annual Le Tour des Jardins here in Shreveport. Judy has painted in one of the featured gardens for the past eight or nine years. In addition to their “wall art” - photography and paintings, Judy is known for her painted glassware, a popular item at outdoor festivals.
Various friends will be providing Irish treats for the table and fellow artists Jim Huckabay and Bill Bryant will entertain with some Irish tunes.
The exhibit will hang through March 23. Gallery hours are Tuesday, 3-7pm, Thursday & Friday, 1-5:30pm, and Saturday, 12:30. To arrange to see the show outside these hours, you are invited to call (318) 424-6764.
